248班唐欣冉 When reciting the poem Prelude to Water Melody, I deeply feel the charm of Chinese culture. Not only does this poem express the poet’s deep love to his brother, but also it shows the romance of Chinese culture. Despite a far distance from each other, people can see and share the same full moon with their family. The full moon symbolizes their full feelings to each other. How touching it is! When reciting it, I can appreciate the beauty of it and go across time and space to have a dialogue with the ancient. What a romantic Chinese poem it is! How charming the Chinese culture is! Chinese culture always shines like a bright star in the history of human kind. It’s when we Chinese all learn to assume the responsibility and be committed to spreading Chinese culture that Chinese culture will always stand on the world stage and become more and more prosperous. I firmly believe that that day will come ultimately with everyone's efforts.
248班張譯琳 Traveling from afar, people meet their families to have a family reunion on the Mid-Autumn Festival. What’s the motivation behind it? It is their love for their family, and it’s their wish for a warm family. When admiring the bright and round moon hanging in the sky on the Mid-Autumn night, my heart is full of feelings of homesickness. The peaceful and beautiful moon shines like a round table where Chinese families always eat and talk. And just as Su Shi’s poem goes, men have sorrow and joy; they part or meet again; the moon is bright or dim; she may wax or wane. And people's wish for family reunion will never fade away as long as they love each other. How touching the Chinese romance is! And it is an indispensable part of Chinese culture. “The culture creates the future, and the heritage should not be forgotten.” Traditional festivals are important part of Chinese culture. The name and the time of the festivals are different, but they are all based on people's best wishes. So whoever, whenever and wherever we are, we should all keep the beauty behind the festivals in our hearts. Though miles apart, we will share the beauty they display.
248班吳念豐 On this Mid-Autumn Festival, I took part in the contest of writing and reciting the Chinese poem called Prelude to Water Melody. At first, I didn’t know the meaning of participating in the contest. However, the process of understanding the poem changed my mind. Prelude to Water Melody written by Su Shi is easy to understand. We can have a dialogue with him and feel his ideas. As the poem says, family members often meet together or stay miles apart, just like the moon, bright or dim, wax or wane. Some are far away from home, hoping for returning home; some are staying home, wishing whoever far from home to reunite finally. However, wherever they are, they share the same moon together, just like Su Shi and his brother Su Zhe. The moon is a perfect tool to carry his wishes and hope for his brother. Now I realize the value and significance of the Mid-Autumn Festival ultimately—to love and cherish your family. How precious it is! What’s more, I understand the real meaning of reciting poems--to appreciate and inherit Chinese culture. What a meaningful contest it is! So as a Chinese adolescent, it's my duty to understand Chinese culture more. I will do my best to inherit and develop Chinese culture, and spread it wherever I go. 原創(chuàng)中英 互譯作品 “ An Ode to Life By English teachers of Grade 9 Good places are not far, but where we are.
